About Del Real Foods 

It all started with a pig. Back in 1957, a young entrepreneur named Jesus Cardenas journeyed from his home in Jalisco, Mexico to the farmlands of southern California. With his wife, Luz, their children, and his American dream of starting his family farm, Jesus traded in his bucket of tools for a pig. And Del Real Foods was born. Today, Del Real Foods makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco - all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial. Delicious, slow-cooked meats, and homemade sauces that taste as if you cooked them yourself are now available at your local grocery store and ready to serve in minutes.

Del Real Spicy Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One Del Real Foods Fire Roasted Red Salsa
  • 1.5 to 2 cups of fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup of Honey (add more if desired)
  • One lime juice and zest

Instructions:

  1. In a small pot on low, add Del Real Foods Fire Roasted Salsa and heat for about one minute.
  2. Add fresh cranberries and let simmer for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, smash cranberries and add 1 cup of honey and let simmer for another 3-5 minutes. (Add more honey to taste if desired).
  3. Once the sauce has thicken remove from heat and stir in lime zest and juice; let cool. Enjoy!
